Preparing Logo Artwork for Clothing and Glove Manufacturing
A usable logo handover explains what to reproduce, at what size, in which colours and where it belongs. The file alone cannot answer all four questions. Keep an editable master where available and accompany it with a readable reference showing the intended result on each garment or glove component.
In this guide
Package the artwork for an unambiguous handover
- Style ID and artwork revision in the file names.
- Editable/vector source where available, plus a readable reference export.
- Final dimensions with units and aspect-ratio instructions.
- Named colour references and any intentional alternatives.
- Font handling or outlined lettering where appropriate to the agreed workflow.
- A note identifying missing assets or provisional elements.
Measure placement from stable landmarks
Specify each size or product variation that needs a different position. Do not rely on the apparent scale of a pasted mockup. Identify seams, panels, stretch zones or components that may affect the proposed application.
| Product area | Placement information |
|---|---|
| Chest or back | Distance from defined centre/seam landmarks |
| Sleeve | Side, orientation and distance from a defined point |
| Glove | Hand, panel, orientation and application area |
| Labels | Finished dimensions, artwork and attachment details |
Control the proof and approval record
Ask the supplier to identify changes needed for the chosen decoration method. Review a proof at the intended final size and record which file and application it represents. For embroidery, thread and supporting material choices are part of the proposal; a file-format conversion alone is not finished-garment approval.
Mistakes to avoid
- Sending a screenshot without final dimensions or a source file.
- Using file names such as final-final with no controlled revision.
- Assuming approval of one placement covers every product.
Prepare the next decision
Create an artwork register linking each file revision to a style, application and proof. Resolve provisional details before authorizing the branding to proceed.
