Protective Glove Testing Documents: What Buyers Should Request

· FASA GROUP Buyer Guides · 2 min read

Request protective-glove documents against the intended product and claim, not simply a request for a certificate. The buyer needs to know which model, materials and configuration the evidence describes. A report for a different glove or one component cannot automatically establish the status of the proposed finished product.

In this guide

Create a model-to-document register

  • Product and model identifier matching the sample and quotation.
  • Relevant materials, lining, cuff and construction configuration.
  • Issuing organization, document identifier and issue details.
  • Assessment method or standard reference and the scope covered.
  • Results, limitations and any conditions relevant to the intended claim.

Separate general glove requirements from specific claims

SATRA's general-glove overview covers matters such as materials, fit, dexterity and product information. Other intended hazards or claims can require different evidence. For EU PPE projects, review the official framework and obtain competent advice on the product's applicable requirements rather than selecting labels from a generic example.

Resolve changes before approving artwork

Maintain the register through development and repeat orders. Do not copy a protective mark or classification into artwork while its applicability remains unresolved, and do not treat a catalogue concept as a certified manufactured sample.

Mismatch Question
Different model reference How is the proposed product connected to the document?
New palm or lining Does the existing scope cover the change?
Revised closure or cuff Is further assessment required?
Unclear document source Can issuer and authenticity be verified?

Mistakes to avoid

  • Accepting an attractive certificate image without checking its product identity.
  • Treating general glove requirements as proof of every protective claim.
  • Allowing substitutions to bypass the document-review process.

Prepare the next decision

Send the intended claim and market questions with the complete model brief. Ask the supplier and responsible specialist to resolve document traceability before approving labels or production release.
