Custom Gloves RFQ: Materials, Sizes, Quantities and Design Details
A useful glove RFQ describes the parts of the glove and the order breakdown, not simply its colour and target price. Identify what you want to develop, state whether quantities mean pairs or individual gloves and show which specifications are fixed. Ask the supplier to identify any assumptions before comparing quotations.

Describe the glove by construction zone
Do not infer leather species, coating composition or protective performance from a catalogue image. If a material is undecided, describe the intended use and ask for identifiable proposals rather than leaving the supplier to choose silently.
| Zone | Information to provide |
|---|---|
| Palm | Proposed material, coverage and reinforcement layout |
| Back and fingers | Panel arrangement, flexibility priorities and visible details |
| Thumb | Position or pattern reference and movement needs |
| Cuff | Opening, length, closure and any lining connection |
| Inside | Lining choice, seam preferences and included layers |
Make quantities and grading explicit
- Provide the quantity for each size and colourway.
- Name the unit: pairs, single gloves or another specifically agreed unit.
- Attach a hand-measurement or fit-reference method.
- Identify whether both hands use the same branding and construction.
- State any mixed-size or special assortment request separately.
Request a complete commercial response
Include logo dimensions, position callouts, pack quantities and destination. Ask the supplier to separate sample development, requested testing and shipment assumptions from the product specification. Where a protective claim is intended, name the market and evidence request; do not use a generic request for a certificate as a substitute for a defined scope.
Mistakes to avoid
- Leaving pair versus piece quantities ambiguous.
- Specifying only the outside colour while omitting palm or lining materials.
- Requesting unqualified protective labels before the product and evidence are defined.
Prepare the next decision
Package the RFQ, drawings, size breakdown and artwork under one reference. Ask for written clarification of every proposed substitution before moving into sampling.
