Glove Sample Inspection: Fit and Workmanship Checklist

· FASA GROUP Buyer Guides · 2 min read

Inspect glove samples as matched pairs tied to an identified model and material configuration. Separate fit, construction and appearance observations from laboratory or protective-claim review. A sample can answer one development question while leaving another unresolved; record that distinction before approving the next stage.

In this guide

Identify the pair before checking workmanship

  • Model reference, revision, size and colourway.
  • Palm, back, lining and cuff materials represented.
  • Temporary components or deviations from the brief.
  • Left/right differences intentionally specified.
  • The hand reference and review movements to be used.

Review in a consistent sequence

Mark the location and conditions of any problem rather than sending a broad comment that the glove feels wrong. Retain photographs with the sample identity and distinguish a requested design change from a difference against the current specification.

Check What to observe
Dimensions and fit Finger reach, thumb position, palm fit and cuff opening
Construction Panel joins, edge finishing and included layers
Operation Closures and adjustments in the agreed hand position
Branding Artwork version, position and application appearance
Pair identity Consistent size, component count and label references

Close comments with an explicit status

Use accepted, revise or conditional decisions and identify what evidence will close each open point. If a material or lining changes, ask which earlier fit conclusions need another review. Workmanship approval should not be described as confirmation of untested protective suitability.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Inspecting only the most attractive sample hand.
  • Approving a sample without recording temporary materials.
  • Sending contradictory comments from different reviewers.

Prepare the next decision

Return one consolidated pair-inspection sheet with marked locations and required actions. Keep the accepted reference and revisions together before authorizing the next sample or production configuration.
